For centuries, rabbis, gurus, priests, and pastors have attempted to understand and describe the spiritual experience of ‘being in the flow’. For example, the ancient Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu put together his thoughts about it three thousand years ago in is treatise known as the Tao-Te-Ching (i.e., The Way). In the mid-1800s, American Transcendentalist poet, philosopher and essayist Ralph Waldo Emerson also explored this state of being and how to achieve it. Among these spiritual seekers was Unity Minister and author Reverend Eric Butterworth. He authored several books about the subject.
In its most basic form, the idea of being in the flow is understood. Yet, when you move past the surface level concept and go deeper, you discover something that can hardly be put into words.
