Give Online
Use this link for simple and secure online giving through Zeffy.

Zeffy is a 100% free fundraising platform built specifically for nonprofits. Unlike most fundraising tools that charge platform or transaction fees, Zeffy covers all credit card and processing fees, so your organization receives every dollar donated.  Note: Zeffy makes money by adding in a tip to your donation.  In other words, when you make an online donation, Zeffy suggests a **voluntary tip** to support its operations. This tip is **added on top** of the donation—not taken from it—so Unity still receives 100% of your intended gift. If you do not wish to include a tip or if you wish to modify the tip amount that will be added to your transaction, click on the tip field and select "other". Then enter your preferred amount in the tip amount field.

Give a Qualified Charitable Gift

A Qualified Charitable Gift, often referred to as a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), is a way for individuals aged 70½ or older to donate directly from their Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to Unity Center of Spiritual Growth. Here are some key points about QCDs:

  • Tax Benefits: The distribution is not included in your taxable income, making it a tax-efficient way to give to charity.
  • Eligibility: You must be at least 70½ years old to make a QCD.
  • Contribution Limits: You can donate up to $100,000 per year. For married couples, each spouse can donate up to $100,000 from their own IRAs, totaling $200,000.
  • Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs): For those aged 73 or older, QCDs can count towards your RMDs for the year.
  • Direct Transfer: The donation must be made directly from the IRA to the charity to qualify as a QCD.

This method of giving can be particularly beneficial if you do not itemize deductions on your tax return, as it allows you to reduce your taxable income without needing to itemize.

If you have any specific questions about how to set up a QCD, check with your tax advisor.
