As the new Minister here, I’m often asked two questions: Is Unity a Christian movement? and Am I a Christian? To explore these questions more deeply, I’m beginning a new message series called Exploring the Christ Way. Together, we will develop thoughtful and grounded responses to both.
Our exploration begins with an important truth: Jesus was a Jew, and he never used the term "Christian." In fact, the word didn’t exist during his lifetime. Those who followed his teachings were known simply as followers of “The Way,” a name drawn from his declaration: “I am the way, the truth, and the life.”
This teaching will guide our new series. We will look closely at what Jesus taught and how he lived, to consider how his message aligns with Unity principles and with my own evolving beliefs.
