This Sunday, December 11 marks week three of Advent Season. The theme for this week is Love.
Christmas is a perfect time for exploring and celebrating the power of love. Love is an enate part of who you are. In fact, regardless of whether you are aware of it or not, you are always connected to Divine Love for it comes from the Spirit of God. Divine Love is unique because it is unconditional. In other words, it is always available to you; no matter what and with no strings attached. The challenge is to cultivate your awareness so that you can draw strength from it during every moment of every day.
The first step is to open yourself to God. By saying “Here I am, God,” you invite unconditional love to flow more freely. Your declaration is a tremendous statement of love that moves you and changes you. As you strengthen this connection, you become more transparent to God, to others, and to yourself. That is the behavior that Jesus demonstrated. He was someone who was willing to say, “Here I am in peace and love, honoring all others, forgiving those who have hurt me, and loving the sacredness of each person I meet.”
Join Reverend Dennis Ashley this Sunday for a lesson that explains what love means from a spiritual perspective.
Our featured ensemble is S.O.U.L. They are Gwen Gathercoal, Paul Gathercoal, Judith Pinkerton, Gary Buettner, Dagan Williamson, and Laura Wineteer.
