December 22 is the fourth Sunday of Advent. It is devoted to the theme of Joy. It might seem a little odd, but joy is about discovery. Joy is not happiness. Instead, it's a bit more subtle than that. In other words, happiness is an energetic force that is stimulated by outside influences. Whereas joy is a gentle and subtle force that comes from within. It is most familiar as a delight in whatever you find wherever you happen to be. It is like a deep spelunking--an exploration of what is revealed in this moment in this place.
