The Hebrew term for gratitude is Hakarat HaTov. It literally means, "recognizing the good." Practicing gratitude means recognizing the good that is already yours, even amid difficulties. Therefore, when you find yourself square in the middle of pain or loss, you need to study those difficulties and search for the good. It's not easy because when troubles confound you, the good part is often tucked away in the corner of your soul, awaiting to be discovered. When you get mired down in your discomfort, it can be difficult to move forward. But that is when the stunning power of the twin angels of Gratitude and Giving do their work.
Join Reverend Dennis Ashley this Sunday for a lesson about how gratitude and giving can unlock the good that awaits within you.
You can join us in person or watch the service on our live stream feed.
Our ensemble features singer-songwriter Michael Robinson. He will be accompanied by LeeAnn Aerlyn-Moore and Dagan Williamson.
