Everyone feels lost and disconnected from time to time. Even Jesus, the Christ, found himself lost as he prepared to begin a ministry that would change the world. During his 40 days and 40 nights of solitude in the desert he faced temptations that were set to undermine his spiritual devotion. Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha, had a similar experience. He wandered for years experiencing poverty and desolation while seeking the answers to his deepest questions before discovering the wisdom teachings he described as the 8-fold path of Buddhism.
These dark times, when your soul feels empty, leave you feeling disconnected from the spiritual part of yourself. In times like this, you question what you are doing and why you are here. It leaves you to wonder whether there is a purpose to living and dying. This common feeling is often described as being lost in the wilderness of the soul.
Join Reverend Dennis Ashley this Sunday for a lesson about steps you can take when you feel lost that will guide you back to Spirit.
