A basic Unity principle is that "thoughts held in mind produce after their kind." In other words, the thoughts, and corresponding emotions that you accept as your default will be the ones that end up creating your reality. As the term “as within, so without” implies, your experience of the outside world reflects your inner world. This principle is echoed by the world’s major religions which universally profess that thoughts centered on love, kindness, wholeness, and non-judgment create a better life for you and for the world as well.
Now serious scientific research around the Reticular Activating System (RAS) offers scientific evidence that supports this spiritual precept. The RAS is a part of the brain that controls your attention and alertness. It tells you what to pay attention to in your world and what to ignore. Consequently, when you condition your mind and soul to actively seek the good in life, the RAS will direct your brain to find it. And by extension, it will shape the world you experience as well.
