For thousands of years people throughout the world have honored the full moon because it represents a certain kind of energy that is alive within each of us. This lunar energy is receptive, quiet, and introspective rather than assertive; loud or extroverted. It extends throughout the universe and is a part of our very nature. Moreover, the full moon has been interpreted as standing for the stages of life.
Therefore, since Sunday, June 3 falls on a full moon, it is an auspicious time to examine the full moon’s cultural and religious significance.
Join Reverend Dennis Ashley this Sunday for a lesson on the symbolic meaning of the Full Moon using three famous Full Moon Festivals; the Easter Festival; the Vesak Festival; and the Festival of Humanity.
