As every mother knows, raising children can be like corralling chaos. Channeling the unbridled energy of a child relies on your steady and calming presence. However, providing the physical, energetic, mental, and emotional space that young ones require can feel overwhelming. It can be especially challenging when you have exhausted your capacity for giving. When you reach your personal threshold, you can become overwhelmed causing you to react in a negative way to those around you. Reacting, rather than responding, negatively affects your life and relationships. The remedy for exhaustion is learning to pause which allows you more internal (infinite) space to choose how to show up in the moment. Developing this practice is a foundation of spiritual wellness.
Join our Youth and Family Ministry Coordinator Amber Boren for a special lesson honoring mothers about how to find infinite space and energy to lovingly support yourself and others. This Sunday is Mother’s Day, a day for expressing gratitude for all mothers and mother figures. This special service will also feature members of our Unity Youth Program.
Our featured ensemble is S.O.U.L. aka Spiritual Oneness United (in) Love. They include Gwen Gathercoal, Paul Gathercoal, and Jim Turner.
