Maya Angelou wrote that: "An ache for home lives within all of us." As a spiritual being having a human experience you desire a place where you can come home (physically, emotionally, and spiritually) and be known as exactly who and what you are. But it can be difficult to figure out how to pull that off. One essential ingredient is to empty yourself of all pretenses. In other words, you come as you are to your relationships, and to God. The pretenses are the masks you wear to keep unseemly aspects of yourself hidden away from view. By putting these masks aside, you open yourself to the Spirit of God without judgment or guilt.
Join Reverend Dennis Ashley this Sunday for a lesson about how to come home again to the truth of who you really are.
