Tu me manques is a French phrase that translates into English as “I miss you.” But its literal meaning is “You are missing from me.”
Spiritually speaking, this idea makes perfect sense when thinking of your relationship with God. If you are like most folks, you likely experience a persistent feeling that the spirit of God is missing from within you. This seeming emptiness leaves you feeling that you have been abandoned by God. However, this perspective of your relationship with the Creator is a mistake. Rather, you are missing from God. In other words, the Spirit of God can never leave you because God’s Presence is everywhere. Therefore, by extension, you are the very expression of God. Nonetheless, it is up to you to awakened to the holy presence of God within you. Imagine God expressing this feeling to you. “My beloved, you are missing from me.”
Join Reverend Dennis Ashley this Sunday for a lesson about how to make God’s presence more accessible.
