April 9 is Easter Sunday. In the Christian calendar, this day is the most spiritually significant day of the year. Why is that? Christmas is more popular for it marks the birth of Jesus. Yet, Easter has deeper significance. It reminds you that the Christ Consciousness can overcome anything, even death. And as Jesus tells you throughout the Gospels, all the things he has done, you can do also as well as even greater things.

This Sunday’s lesson is “The Road to Emmaus.” It refers to a lesser-known story about Jesus the Christ, appearing to two of his disciples as they were traveling to a small village seven miles from Jerusalem. This appearance occurs on the very day his body has risen from the tomb. At the time, the two disciples are very distraught over their savior’s death. In meeting Jesus, the disciples fail to recognize him. So, as they walk along, they confide in the stranger and share their innermost feelings about Jesus’ life and recent death.

Join Reverend Dennis Ashley this Sunday for a lesson about the disciple’s experience and what it reveals about the very essence of the man who was the Christ which is reflected also in your own spirit.
